c: <br />• <br />1) Small Town Survey <br />i,is. Kiemnec reported that a check for the Small Town Survey <br />Grant has been received from HLFI. She has interviewed four <br />people for the position and asked the Comnfl ssioners if they <br />were aware of anyone else who would be interested in the <br />internship. She and Mrs. Sporieder will review the <br />applications and make a decision by the last week of May. <br />Regarding publication of the County Summary Report, Hs. <br />Kiemnec asked if it was necessary to include the current names <br />of owners of houses surveyed which would make the Report be <br />out of date very quickly. The Commission agreed that it was <br />not necessary. <br />Ms. Kiemnec asked if it was necessary to publish a model <br />ordinance in the Summary Report. The Commission agreed that <br />it was not but that one should be available in the office if <br />any of the Small Towns inquire about coming under our <br />jurisdiction. The matter was referred to the Legal Committe <br />who will meet with Mr. Butler to discuss it. <br />3) Survey Update and Reevaluation <br />a) Potawatomi Park Shelter House <br />Ms. Straw presented a Reevaluation Recommendation for the <br />Potawatomi Park Shelter House (see Appendix C) with a <br />recommended rating of S/11. 'r1r. Oxian made a motion that <br />the shelter which was not previously rated be given a <br />rating of S/11; 11r. Beatty seconded; motion passed. <br />4) Industrial Building 1%leeting - Report <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that 20 people attended the April 25 <br />hileet i ng for Industrial Eauilding Owners. f1ost were building <br />owners but a few realtors also attended. The Industrial <br />Buildings Slide Presentation was shown, Mr. Jaynes Conley from <br />HLFI explained the National Register and the Tax Act, and <br />there was a question and answer period. <br />ias. Kiemnec inquired if the Commissioners could suggest anyone <br />else who might be interested in the presentation. They <br />suggested the South Bend Library and the Social Studies <br />Program at the South Bend School Corporation as well as the <br />television stations. <br />4 <br />
