APPENDIX "A" <br />Cza <br />.�-t' <br />0 A <br />PROCEDURES FOR ACCEPTING A FACADE EASEMENT FOR LOCAL PROPERTY TAX BENEFIT <br />1. A letter will be sent to all Landmark owners explaining the benefits of a facade <br />easement, how to obtain, and its restrictions and limitations. <br />2. Once an inquiry is made by the owner, requirements will be explained in detail. <br />3. Requirements of the property owner: <br />a. Photographs of all exterior facades and some of details <br />b. Application for facade easement including name, address, detailed architectural <br />description of building, dimensions of building, condition, etc. <br />c. Sign a contract with the Historic Preservation Commission detailing the requirements <br />of the facade easement <br />d. Apply for property tax reduction annually from the County Auditor <br />e. File an annual information sheet accompanied by updated photographs with the <br />Commission. The owner will be required to state that no changes have been made <br />to the building. <br />4. Requirements of Historic Preservation Commission <br />a. Explain facade easement program <br />b. Explain photographs needed or contract with owner to take them <br />C. Draw up and distribute annual information sheet <br />d. Notify Auditor of all violations <br />e. Establish fee for accepting a facade easement - a suggested fee of $20.00 should <br />be paid yearly on the property tax saving to be computed by the property owner. <br />A copy of the tax statement shall be submitted with the payment. <br />f. Interested owners should consult their attorneys and accountants on the program. <br />i 10 <br />
