Call to Order <br />ROOM 1123 COUNTY CITY BUILDING <br />south bend, indiana 46601 (219 284-9798) <br />M I N U T E S <br />Third Floor Conference Room <br />County/City Building <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:34 p.m. <br />2. Roll Call <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. John Oxian, Mrs. Martha Choitz, Mrs. Janeanne <br />Petrass, Mrs. Joann Sporleder, Mr. Michael Beatty, <br />Mr. Charlie Hayes, Mr. F. Jay Nimtz. <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Odell Newburn, Mrs. Gina DeLaruelle. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Karen Kiemnec, Preservation Planner; Elizabeth <br />Straw, Administrative Assistant; and Jeanne Derbeck, <br />South Bend Tribune Reporter. <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br />Mr. Oxian suggested that a note be added to page 3, #3 Historic District <br />Committee Meeting Report to indicate that he and Ms. Kiemnec had met with <br />Jon Hunt, Executive Director of the Economic Development Department, to <br />discuss local historic districts in the Near East, Northwest, and the St. <br />Joseph Street area. Mr. Hunt said the city had no problem with districts <br />being designated in these areas and would cooperate in every way <br />possible. Mr. Beatty made a motion to approve the March 19, 1984 minutes <br />with the above correction; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion passed. <br />4. Treasurer's Report <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she had met with Mr. John Lentz to review <br />the Commission's books for any irregularities. He found none and <br />only suggested a minor change in the format of the monthly <br />treasurer's report which will be implemented in April's report. Mrs. <br />Choitz made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as received; <br />Mrs. Petrass seconded; motion passed. <br />5. Correspondence <br />a.
