Preservation Planner's Salary <br />Mr. Wasielewski reported that the Personnel Committee recommended <br />that the HPC give the Preservation Planner the increase in the <br />budget for 1983 as a salary increase. Mr. Newburn so moved; Mr. <br />Nimtz seconded; motion carried. <br />c.) Preservation Planner's Contract <br />Mr. Wasielewski reported that the Planner's contract expires December <br />31, 1982. Mr. Nimtz made a motion that the contract be renewed; Mr. <br />Newburn seconded; motion passed._ It was agreed that a copy of the <br />contract would be sent to each Commissioner for comments. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Downtown Buildings <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she, Mr. James Conley, and Mr. Oxian had met and de- <br />cided that the best way to inform downtown building owners of the benefits of <br />preservation would be to hold a conference with experts to speak on the tax <br />act, facade easements, a National Register Historic District, etc. 'May 9th, <br />during National Preservation Week, was chosen as a date -for the conference and <br />the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, the Mayor, and the Redevelopment <br />Department have agreed to support and participate in it. Southhold Restora- <br />tions and Southold Heritage will also be asked to participate. <br />8. New Business <br />a. Nominating Committee <br />Mr. Wasielewski appointed the following persons to the nominating committee: <br />Mr. Nimtz, chairperson, Mrs. Choitz, and Mrs. DeLaruelle. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />No report. <br />10. Announcements and Miscellaneous Matters <br />Ms. Ki emnec reported that the book The: -Amer: i can•;HoUse by --Maty Mix Foley has -.been <br />received. She further reported that Ordinances had boen received from Rockford <br />and Aurora, Illinois and Annapolis, Maryland. <br />I].
