The <br />motion was carried. <br />A discussion ensued on the resignation of Commissioner Gerald Kline. <br />It was resolved that a letter of appreciation be sent to him on behalf <br />of the Commission, from the Secretary or Planner. Further, a replacement <br />should be chosen by the next commission meeting. <br />Mrs. Sporleder questioned the Commission on the status of Commissioner <br />Al Stivers. Mr. Wasielewski stated that the Commission should approach <br />the County Council for his resignation since he has attended only one <br />meeting. <br />6. Correspondence <br />Mr. John Stamper read into the minutes the following correspondence <br />received by the Commission: A letter from Southhold Restoration <br />requesting articles for their upcoming newsletter, a letter on a�ewe <br />proposal writing workshop to be held in South Bend February 20,1980, <br />and a subscription advertisement to the Historic House Association of <br />America. <br />Mr. Oxian moved and Mrs. Price seconded that we subscribe to the Historic <br />House Association magazine. <br />7. Committee Reports <br />City Survey <br />Mr. John Stamper stated that the survey work is completed on the <br />Miami-Ridgedale area, while there is some resurvey work to be done <br />on the Near Northwest area. He pointed out that the Commission's <br />main priority should be completing the planning book, over submitting <br />the city survey, since we have a two month deadline to complete the <br />book. <br />Mrs. Price moved and Mr. Newburn seconded that the planning book be <br />the top priority of the Commission. The motion carried. <br />Budget and Finance <br />No Report <br />Historic Districts and Standards <br />Mr. John Oxian discussed a meeting held by Mr. Stamper and by Mr. <br />Oxian with the Bendix Estate Neighborhood Association which is <br />seeking historic district status. <br />Mr. Newburn questioned if this would involve the Commission in the <br />dispute with the Bendix Estate development. Mr. Oxian stated that <br />80% of the neighbors would have to vote for the standards <br />;-�. It would encompass a wide band from Eddy St. o Ironwood. <br />
