historic preservcommissiono <br />of south bend and st. joseph county <br />PRESERVATION PLANNER <br />Job Description <br />Description: <br />ROOM 1123 COUNTY CITY BUILDING <br />south bend, indiana 46601 (219 284.9798) <br />Preservation Planner to direct all the activities and projects of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission office of South Bend and St. Joseph County, <br />Indiana and provide the management of technical services and architectural <br />review. <br />More specifically, the Planner will manage the functions of the office <br />and its staff, collect and analyze data, compile survey cards for landmarks <br />and districts, prepare the agenda for Commission meetings, keep a calender of <br />events, prepare the budget and treasurer's report, do research and reference <br />work, prepare reports and correspondence, assist the public to information <br />pesired, and attend all Commission public meetings and caucuses. <br />On Various occasions the Planner'wili represent the Commission at affairs <br />in the community deemed appropriate and meaningful, and attend seminars, work- <br />shops and conferences. —0 <br />4d.ucational Requirements: <br />Masters degree in architecture, architectural history, or preservation <br />planning. <br />Required Skills: <br />7 <br />Knowledge of architectural styles and history; research and writing skills; <br />so" knowledge on bookkeping and double entry accounting; typing ability; pro- <br />ficiency in communicating with professional planners, architects, developers, etc. <br />Additional Requirements: <br />Must have driver's license, car, and photography equipment. <br />Salary: <br />$14,500 based upon education and experience. <br />Working Relationships <br />Reports to: The President of the Commission and/or the Vice -President <br />and/or the Chairman of the appropriate committee. <br />Supervises: All office staff and research assistants; conducts staff • <br />meetings; coordinates work of consultants retained or <br />hired by the Commission. <br />El <br />
