He was directed to write for further information. <br />Mr. Stamper announced that the State of the County Address, will be <br />given Tuesday, February 26, 1980 at 4:45 p.m. in the Fourth Floor <br />Council Chambers. <br />Mr. Stamper briefly read into the record the new County travel policy. <br />The mileage rate has risen to 16t per mile from 15C• Prior County <br />approval is needed for travel reimbursement. He further stated he will <br />be sending the County Commission a letter of request for reimbursement <br />for the Commission's March attendance at the Indiana Governor's <br />Conference in Indianapolis. <br />No further correspondence. <br />5a. Suspension of Agenda <br />Mr. Wasielewski requested that the agenda be suspended so Mr. Bill <br />Brown of Leroy Troyer and Associates could address the Commission in <br />regard to the Certificate of Appropriateness for Tippecanoe Place, to <br />• resolve the problem of the,porte cochere without going to the City • <br />Council. <br />Mr. Brown stated, denying the Certificate of Appropriateness, and <br />opting for the opening in the porte cochere, would produce a hardship <br />on the owners. The cloakroom, he said, would have to be moved to Clem <br />Studebakers office, creating a loss of eighteen seats. Mr. Brown <br />submitted three proposals: first, to fill the opening with wood panel <br />doors; second, to fill the opening with opaque glass; third, to fill <br />the opening with wood paneling. <br />Mr. Stamper stated we should let them proceed with the work on the <br />cloakroom, and utilize wood double doors for the porte cochere opening. <br />If not approved the Commission should present feasible alternatives. <br />Mr. F. Jay Nimtz moved that the Commission reconsider the previous vote <br />on the Tippecanoe Place, Certificate of Appropriateness; the motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Newburn and it carried. <br />After discussion of three alternative treatment methods, the Commission <br />approved Proposal A for the enclosure of the porte cochere doorway <br />opening, with the use of non-functional paneled wood doors. A motion <br />for acceptance was made by Mrs. Price, seconded by Mr. Oxian. The motion <br />carried. (appendix 1) <br />• 6. Committee Reports • <br />City Survey <br />Mr. Stamper stated that a bound copy of city survey lists and maps, <br />with an introduction to each will be produced in the next month. It <br />
