Mr. Nimtz moved the Treasurer's Report <br />be accepted, it was seconded by Mr. Oxian and approved. <br />1278 5. Correspondence <br />"Thank you" letters were sent to Chester Collier and Reverend <br />Weber at St. Paul's Church. A letter was sent to Sam Marcantini <br />who requested information about a barn on Dragoon Trail. A letter <br />was sent to Allen E. Schrager, attorney for the JMS Building about <br />the Clock in front of Fannie May's, as was a letter to Brownstone <br />Biographies in Brooklyn, N.Y. requesting their publication on, <br />"How to do Your House's History." A letter was received from <br />Craig Leonard, sent to him from James Fahs, president of Develop- <br />ment Associates, concerning adaptive reuse of older buildings that <br />may qualify as certified historic structures under state guidelines. <br />A copy of these letters were sent to Mayor Nemeth, Steven Queior, <br />Carl Ellison and Jon Hunt. A commendation from Donald Truex on <br />Project Landmarks was received. A letter was sent to Betty Burch, <br />City Building Department, with a list of all properties on West <br />North Shore Drive that now have to go through a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness review before a building permit is issued. <br />A letter, received from Pat Osman, stated that Community Develop- <br />ment will be reviewing and presenting proposals on January 11, at <br />7:00 p.m., Fourth Floor of the County Council Chambers, for 1979 <br />Community Development Block Grants. <br />1278 6. Committee Reports <br />City Survey <br />A motion was made by Mr. Nimtz and seconded by Mr. Oxian to make <br />an amendment to the contract with Crumlish/Sporleder, to put in a <br />provision saying that if there is insufficient funds to pay the con- <br />sultants, that such balance shall be due and payable ($16,500) to <br />the consultants upon receipt by the Commission of these funds (from <br />CD) and any such delay in payment shall not constitute a breach of <br />contract. This motion was passed when quorum arrived. <br />A letter was sent to Barb Radican outlining the sources of all City <br />Survey monies, how they have been spent, the amount of work done <br />and what still needs to be done, for both Phase I and II. Another <br />letter was sent to Cande Marin, Fiscal Officer of Community Devel- <br />opment, obligating the $8,000.00 (for the City Survey) by Decem- <br />ber 15th. <br />A separate contract between Crumlish/Sporleder and the Commission <br />for $500.00 to do a nine to ten thousand word factual history of <br />South Bend and St. Joseph County.
