South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - February 16, 1996
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
b. Continued...
Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki,
seconded by Mr. Donoho and
unanimously carried, the Commission
approved Resolution No. 1417
approving an application for residential
property tax deduction for property
located in the 1600 block of South
Phillipa and the 2200 block of South
Meade in the Sample -Ewing
Development Area. (B. L. Builders)
C. Commission approval requested for
Amendment to Contract with Ken
Herceg & Associates for Professional
Services in the West Washington -
Chapin Development Area.
Mrs. Kolata explained this is change
order #3 for this contract related to
some underground tanks that were
removed from 202 S. Chapin Street.
The Department of Environmental
Management changed the regulations
between the signing of
the original agreement and when the
work was actually done. That change
required additional samples. The delay
in the work was not the fault of Ken
Herceg & Associates but was related to
when we took possession of the
property. They found a fifth
underground storage tank when only
four were expected and there was some
leakage from the used oil tank that
necessitated additional samples. The
total amount of the change order is
$4,450, most of which is laboratory
charge.
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION
NO. 1417 APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION
FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1600 BLOCK
OF SOUTH PHILLIPA AND THE 2200 BLOCK OF
SOUTH MEADE IN THE SAMPLE -EWING
DEVELOPMENT AREA (B.L. BUILDERS)
