NEW BUSEWSS (Cont.) <br />d. continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, <br />seconded by Mr. Hojnacki and <br />unanimously carried the Commission <br />approved Resolution No. 1413 <br />accepting the transfer of meal property <br />from the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />e. Commission authorization <br />requested for use of the Palais <br />Royale Ballroom and the Morris <br />Civic Plaza by Michiana Arts & <br />Sciences Council on May 16 -20, <br />1996 for Carnival of the Arts. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that Michiana <br />Arts and Sciences Council has asked <br />to use the Palais Royale Ballroom <br />and the Morris Civic Plaza, on May <br />16 -20, 1996 for Carnival of Arts. <br />The building commissioner and the <br />fire department inspected the <br />building. There are a number of <br />items that need to be repaired before <br />using the building. Michiana Arts <br />& Sciences Council has agreed to <br />pick up the cost for the repairs and <br />provide us with a Certificate of <br />Insurance. The staff recommends <br />approving this request, subject to <br />MASC assuming all costs to meet <br />health and safety codes, making any <br />repairs on teh plaza for damage <br />caused by Carnival, and subject to <br />the Certificate of Insurance naming <br />the City, Commission, and Authoirty <br />as additional insured.
