• <br /> • <br /> BILL NO. // <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 8 '7 - <br /> AM ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 6, SECTION 20- <br /> 100. 1 (b) OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE ADDRESSING <br /> "PARKING BY FIRE HYDRANTS PROHIBITED" <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> On February 22, 1993 , the South Bend Common Council passed <br /> Ordinance No. 8358-93 which created new Section 20-100. 1 of <br /> the South Bend Municipal Code which specifically prohibits <br /> parking by fire hydrants. <br /> Since the passage of that Ordinance, the City Engineering <br /> Department has determinded that appropriate markings on the <br /> curbs as opposed to appropriate signage should be used as a <br /> more cost effective way of implementing this Ordinance. <br /> Accordingly, this Ordinance incorporates the necessary <br /> amendments for these markings to take place. <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Common Council of the <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> Section I . The Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br /> Indiana, hereby amends Chapter 20, Article 6, Section 20- <br /> 100. 1 (b) of the South Bend Municipal Code , to read in its <br /> entirety as follows: <br /> fb) Appropriatc signs giving noticc of this parking <br /> (b) Appropriate markings giving notice of this parking <br /> prohibition shall be made by the City. <br /> Section II . This Ordinance shall be in full force and <br /> effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and <br /> approval by the Mayor. <br /> Memb of tie Common Council <br />
