South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - November 3, 1995 <br />5. OLD BUSEWSS (Cont.) <br />a. continued... <br />Mrs. Kolata noted Practico Development, <br />Charles Hayes, Inc., and the staff have <br />worked out an agreement for the development <br />of Parcel 11. Mr. Okafor noted that the <br />outstanding issues regarding development of <br />this site which were remaining after the last <br />meeting were related to design and public <br />works. Charles Hayes has proposed to <br />purchase the western-most 1/3 of the parcel <br />for $25,375. The staff has agreed to pay 50% <br />of the cost of removal and replacement of <br />curbs and sidewalks, not to exceed $8,265. <br />Charles Hayes will construct a radio antenna <br />tower and landscape the entire site as an <br />attractive area. Practico Development will <br />purchase the remaining 2/3 of Parcel 11 for <br />$25,000. The staff has agreed to pay 50% of <br />the cost of removing and replacing curbs and <br />sidewalks, not to exceed $7,200. The staff <br />will also pay up to $5,000 for any necessary <br />removal of rubble and debris. The staff <br />recommends accepting both proposals. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded by <br />Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission accepted the proposal of Practico <br />Development Company for 41,209 square feet <br />of Parcel 11 and the proposal of Charles <br />Hayes, Inc. for 39,648 square feet of <br />Parcel 11 in the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area. <br />b. Commission approval requested for <br />Amended Resolution No. 1375 approving an <br />application for real property tax deduction <br />for property located at 2208 West Indiana <br />rw -4- <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL OF <br />PRACTICO DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FOR <br />41,209 SQUARE FEET OF PARCEL 11 AND <br />THE PROPOSAL OF CHARLES HAYES, INC. <br />FOR 39,648 SQUARE FEET OF PARCEL 11 IN <br />THE SAMPLE -EWING DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />
