Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1327 approving an <br />application for real property tax <br />deduction for property located at 3820 <br />William Richardson Drive in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area (FDC <br />Graphic Films) <br />Mr. Beitzinger read the staff report on the <br />project. FDC Graphic Films, Inc. is a <br />manufacturer of pressure sensitive film for <br />the Graphics /Sign Industry Their process <br />involves the conversion of pressure sensitive <br />log rolls, which range in size from 48 <br />inches to 60 inches by 250 yards, through a <br />series of converting machines which slit the <br />material to widths that vary from 1/32 inch <br />to 48 inches. The material is then processed <br />through a secondary application which <br />laminates and/or perforates the material. <br />Their project calls for the construction of a <br />new 20,400 square foot manufacturing <br />facility on Lot 6 of the Toll Road Industrial <br />Park. In addition, new machinery and <br />equipment will be purchased, and machinery <br />and equipment presently located at their <br />facility in Crystal Lake, Illinois will be <br />brought to the South Bend plant. <br />The total estimated cost of the project is <br />$685,000, $550,000 for the new building <br />and $135,000 for the new equipment. <br />Per the petition, it is estimated that this <br />project will create between twenty -five and <br />thirty (25 -30) new permanent full-time jobs <br />in the first year, representing an annual <br />payroll of approximately $500,000. <br />-4- <br />
