NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />c. continued... <br />What kind of impression is this for people <br />coming into our city? And here you want to <br />build a detention center there. You know, I <br />don't think it's very impressive at all. That's <br />just my opinion. I plan to stay there, but <br />seeing what's going up on Michigan Street, I <br />don't like it. I hope to make a difference, to <br />try to keep some of your future plans that <br />you think are improving the city and they're <br />not. It's chasing people away. I don't <br />expect any more business... How can <br />business be attracted to some of these things <br />that are on Michigan Street and some of the <br />future things you want to put up there? <br />That's all I'd like to say. <br />JACINTA WIELGOS: I'm another daughter <br />of Justine and Frank. I'd like to add to <br />something my sister brought up. I just think <br />it would be interesting for you to know that <br />on the Notre Dame weekends, the amount of <br />traffic, are you even aware of the traffic that <br />comes down that way? And the impression <br />that they might have coming into this city <br />what's already existing there? But isn't it <br />something that when we are out in the back <br />hanging clothes, working in the yard, that all <br />of a sudden some car will stop along the <br />way, in front of the house, taking pictures of <br />our home and the flowers. People are <br />actually standing on the side lot commenting <br />on how beautiful it is and what a beautiful <br />place it is on entering South Bend to see <br />something like it. That there's still <br />something left like it. And it's unusual that <br />people take the time, I mean they really must <br />-35- <br />
