South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - August 20, 1993
7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont.)
Fame. He compared revenue from per person
spending at Coveleski Stadium ($6.80) to the
projected per person spending for the Hall of
Fame ($11.49). He feels that the Hall of Fame
projection is overly optimistic. He commented
on the disproportionate cost of exhibits in the
Hall of Fame ($7 million) in relation to the cost
of constructing Blackthorn Golf Course ($5.6
million).
Mr. Cierzniak commented on the way the
Commission pays for a study and then receives
the report with no opportunity for intelligent
questions from the public since the public is
given the report at the time of the presentation.
Ms. Auburn noted that the staff has ongoing
discussion with the consultant after receiving the
report. Mr. Cierzniak responded that the public
should have some opportunity for discussion
with the consultant also.
Mr. Sharp asked if Mr. Cierzniak's comments
were referred to Economic Research Associates.
He felt they should respond to these comments
and questions. Mr. Hunt responded that he
would look into that.
8. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING
The next Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment NEXT COMMISSION MEETING
Commission is scheduled for September 3, 1993
at 10:00 a.m.
-19-
