South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - March 19, 1993
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued...
Ms. Auburn asked Mr. Clark if he knew the
estimated demolition cost for this building.
Mr. Clark responded that their estimate was
$125,000. Mrs. Kolata noted that the staff's
estimates indicated a demolition cost of
$140,000 to $150,000, exclusive of any
asbestos removal or environmental clean-up.
Mrs. Kolata noted that neither bid met the
minimum offering price. The bid from
Holladay Corporation in the amount of
$305,000 had conditions which reduced the
value of the bid. Therefore, by law, we
cannot take action on either for thirty days.
That thirty days would expire April 18,
which is after the Commission's regular
meeting on April 16. She suggested that the
Commission might want to consider having a
Special Meeting since the next Regular
Meeting is not until May 7.
The Commission referred the bids to staff
for review and recommendation.
Mrs Kolata noted that since we don't have
any bid that met the minimum offering price,
we can negotiate with any offer that might
still come in.
b. Public Hearing on Resolution No. 1141. a
Supplemental Aunropriation resolution of the
City of South Bend Redevelopment
Commission.
In
COMMISSION REFERRED THE BIDS TO
STAFF FOR REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION
