South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Special Meeting - June 19, 1992
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued...
$933,786 that can be reimbursed to the
cumulative sewer fund. Resolution
No. 1069 completes that reimbursement.
The money will be used for projects such
as the widening of Ironwood from Ireland
to Randolph and as a match for federal
money to widen Edison Road from South
Bend Avenue to Crestwood.
Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded by
Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 1069
authorizing reimbursement to the City of
South Bend for expenditures made within
the Rum Village Industrial Park.
b. Commission approval requested for
contract with Lawson- Fisher Associates
for engineering services in the South
Bend Central Development Area.
Mrs. Kolata explained that we have been
working for some time to develop
additional riverbank walkways along the
Madison Center property. Lawson Fisher
had previously designed the walkway along
the older Madison Center property. We
would like them to design the walkway
from that point north to the edge of the
property they have recently purchased and
then east to Niles Avenue. Lawson Fisher
has proposed to do the design for $10,300
plus approximately $2,500 in reimbursable
expenses. Their estimate for
construction of the walkway is
approximately $100,000. We don't expect
to have the money to build it this year,
but would like to have the design done so
that we are in a position to move it
forward when the money becomes available.
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION
NO. 1069 AUTHORIZING
REIMBURSEMENT TO THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND FOR EXPENDITURES MADE
WITHIN THE RUM VILLAGE INDUSTRIAL
PARK
Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded COMMISSION APPROVED THE CONTRACT
by Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, WITH LAWSON FISHER ASSOCIATES FOR
- the Commission approved the contract with ENGINEERING SERVICES IN THE SOUTH
Looi Lawson Fisher Associates for engineering BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT AREA
services in the South Bend Central
Development Area.
-3-
