SUBSTITUTE BILL NO. 18-06 ORDINANCE NO. a ~7 ~ -~~O AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CONFIRMING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY IN ANTICIPATION OF CITY PLAN STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT Within the next several months, the South Bend Common Council will be reviewing and adopting a long term plan for orderly development, growth, and project prioritization which will be known as City Plan. In anticipation of this long range planning process, it is appropriate to confirm the geographic boundaries of the City of South Bend which will be affected by and subject to City Plan. By state law St. Joseph County Surveyor John McNamara maintains a legal description of the boundaries of the City of South Bend which have been and are incorporated in this Ordinance, a copy of which is attached hereto. Be it, Therefore, ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. The boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana as certified by St. Joseph County Surveyor John McNamara as of April 10, 2006 are hereby accepted and approved. Section II. All land within the boundaries certified under Section I is within the regulatory jurisdiction of the City of South Bend for purposes of City Plan and for any other purpose. Section III. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. Member, South nd Common Council Attest• ty e k
