South Bend
Regular Me
elopment Commission
- October 26, 1990
6. NEW BUSn ESS (Cont.)
a. conitinuect...
building in 1982, my business, Joe's
Liquor has doubled its retail sales. The
other retail businesses have also
increased sales. I was advised in early
198S not to pave the remaining area until
fin l decisions were made regarding
acq isitions. Therefore I would request
tha ownership of these parcels remain
the same.
Sincerely,
Jos ph A. Gorny
Joe's Liquor Store
111 South Main St.
South Bend, IN 46618
Ms. Kolata said these are the
reannstxances that have been received at
this point.
Ms. Kolata asked Mr. Pocius to briefly
outline those areas that are being
suggested to add to the acquisition list.
The Commission earlier this year added a
nuiter of parcels to their acquisition
list. With this resolution we would add
the remainder of the property that we
intend to acquire in the Studebaker
Corridor Development Area.
Mr. Pocius outlined the Studebaker
Co idor Area on the map. The purpose of
all this is to assemble land in the
Studebaker Corridor area. Specifically,
we are adding properties south of Sample
St. for assemblage and ultimate
di ition in order to redevelop the
are4 as a light industrial park. This is
-13-
