South Bend edevelop4nent Commission
Regular Meeting - February 23, 1990
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
h. continued...
are working with the police and with the
nei rhood group and we continue to
work with them. I know they're
frLLstrated over some of the conditions
that: are there. But I don't know the
rulos on loitering.
Mrs Cain: I'm Louvenia Cain from 1207
W. Washington Street. I've lived in the
area for the last 45 years. We bought
our have with the intention to retire and
spend our last years there. But the
condition has deteriorated. When we
bouc ht our home, we had the NyikosI Bar
and we had the drug store. We had a
garage store, we had hardware, all the
thir s that you need to stay in the
neicbborhood. But there were some
es. The laws weren't rigidly
enforced. I believe if they had kept the
law on those people, we would have had a
different life style. The conditions
th a now, we just cannot exist. I would
like to see you make these changes and
pass this resolution. Thank you.
. Thank you. Anybody else?
Ms. Muhananad• I'm Gladys Muhanued. I
work for South Bend Heritage Foundation
and I am in support of the Plan. But I
do see a lot of faces in this room who
are property owners along W. Washington
and Chapin Streets who don't attend the
meetings and I would like to say, please
attend the meetings. We meet the third
Thutsday of every month at St. Paul's
Metliodist, Church at 7:00 p.m. and you can
and disagree with us or you can
a with us. But we do want your
inlo4t
: Thank you Ms. Muhau mad.
ban• • I'm Sue Hockman. I'm a
of the west side and I'm also a
ood watch coordinator. During
-17-
