CORY WINDOW PROJECT
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS

1. WRITTEN DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW & SPECIFICATION OF MATERIALS

PART A: SUNROOM WINDOWS AND DOOR
Replacement of more recent vinyl windows and patio door with a more authentic look.

This room at the northwest back corner of the house is a porch addition from late 1950s, enclosed in the 80s or
90s (?), with a single door and six vinyl casement windows with plastic "muntins" sandwiched inside glass.

We have to completely reframe the sunroom due to extensive termite damage. In the process, we would like to
replace all the windows, maintaining the casement style with muntins that are already there. We will also
replace the current single (vinyl?) French door from the 80s or 90s with a more authentic aluminum/wood set of
double French-style doors.

Configuration:
WEST WALL: Window configuration (2 pair of double casement windows) remains the same. Window
authenticity will be upgraded.

NORTH WALL: Window configuration will be altered for a more symmetrical arrangement more
consonant with historical character of the house. Currently has one single patio door in the corner, with
1 pair of double casement windows. The single French door will be converted to a set of double French
doors flanked by narrow casement windows on either side (exactly like the sunroom on the corner of
Wayne and Twyckenham, at 304 S. Twyckenham, a few doors down from us).

Style & Materials:
Current windows are white vinyl Anderson windows, from the 80s or 90s, with vinyl overlay muntins.
The upgraded casements and doors will be “Marvin Elevate,” white, fiberglass exterior / wood interior,
with muntins (SDL with spacer bar, for a more realistic divided lite effect). They will be white, to
match with the rest of the windows in the house.

Marvin Elevate Casements: https://www.marvin.com/products/collections/elevate/casement

Marvin Elevate French Patio Door:
https://www.marvin.com/products/collections/elevate/swinging-french-door

SDL muntins with spacer bar: https://www.marvin.com/products/design-options/divided-lites
