These specifications cover pyrophosphate compounds used to stabilize or <br />sequester soluble iron and manganese in potable water. <br />E. PHYSICAL FORM <br />i. Product shall be a granular form. Powdered material will not be accepted. <br />F. PHYSICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall comply with the following physical requirements: <br />1. Color: White <br />2. Solubility: Completely miscible in water <br />3. Percent Phosphate as PO4 Minimum of 80% <br />4. Physical Form: Granular <br />G. CHEMICAL STANDARDS <br />i. Phosphate blend shall contain only NSP approved phosphorous ingredients. <br />ii. No amines or other chelating agents shall be used. <br />iii. Blended phosphate product formulation shall be only sodium salts of <br />phosphate compounds. <br />iv. No potassium salts shall be used. <br />V. Impurities in pyrophosphate products shall not exceed the following <br />concentrations: <br />Arsenic as AS 0.001 m 1 <br />Co er as CU 0.2 m 1 <br />Hea Metals total as Pb) 0.001 m <br />Iron FE 0.1 m 1 <br />Man anese as MN < .05 ma/1 <br />Organics as.0 . _ ................._None <br />Silica as S102 1.0 <br />Zinc as ZN 0.01 m 1 <br />
