NEW BUSVMS (Cont.) <br />a. continued... <br />Kolata noted that we were unable to <br />obtain the proof of publication from <br />the Tri- County News in time for this <br />meeting. <br />4. A copy of the mailing labels for <br />property owners that were affected by <br />Resolution No. 893. These property <br />owners were sent a copy of the legal <br />notice on October 13, 1989. A few <br />were sent out on October 16, 1989. <br />5. A copy of Resolution No. 893 which is <br />the subject of the public hearing. <br />6. As of 10:00 a.m. this morning there <br />were 12 written remonstrances. <br />7. As of 10:00 a.m. this morning there <br />was 1 written letter of support. <br />Mr. Nimtz asked if there were any <br />objections to the receiving of these <br />items into the record. There were none <br />and the items were received into the <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that Resolution No. <br />893 does the following things: 1) expands <br />the boundaries of the South Bend Central <br />Development Area by adding approximately <br />80 acres to the south, including Howard <br />Park! the area just east of Howard Park <br />over to Notre Dame Avenue, Viewing Park <br />to Icanple Street, and the Edgewater <br />residential neighborhood and expanding <br />the boundaries of the South Bend Central <br />Development Area on the north by adding 2 <br />acres north of St. Joseph Station to <br />Madison Street on the east side of <br />M3-cblgan Street; 2) establishes the <br />expansion areas as part of the tax <br />incremental financing allocation area; <br />and, 3) sets the specific land uses for <br />the expansion areas. The parks would <br />remain parks, the cxmmiercial office areas <br />would retain commercial office <br />designation, the area with several zoning <br />designations would be mixed use and <br />resi ential along Wayne Street, the <br />-4- <br />
