South Bendevelopmexit Commission
Rescheduled Regular Meeting - November 17, 1989
5. OLD " INESS (Cont.)
a. co»tinuea...
made no commitment to improve the
structure after it is moved, except to
"repair aluminum siding where needed."
Based on this, I would question Mr.
Cripe's commitment to the neighborhood.
The site plan does not propose any paved
off - street parking. The structure
currently contains seven units. Section
21-89 of the South Bend Municipal Code
requires one off - street parking space per
unit. Section 21 -99Cc> requires those
parking spaces to be paved.
The adjacent property to the north of the
proposed site is on the Department of
Redevelopment's acquisition list. I
understood that it was to be acquired and
cleared so that the entire half block
could be marketed for new development.
Finally, after having invested a great
deal of time and money in my property
based on certain expectations and plans,
I am concerned that the integrity of
those plans may be compromised by short
sightedness simply because someone wants
to save his income property.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kevin Joyce
Mrs. Kolata noted that Mr. Joyce lives at
61E Fellows Street which is behind and a
qLiarter of a block dawn frcm. the property
in auestion.
Mr.1 Dobson, B & R Oil Co., indicated that
father had met with the staff and he
unfamiliar with the outstanding
-6-
