Milton Butts: Mr. Nimtz, members of the MILTON BUTTS Redevelopment Commission, my name is Milton Butts. I am old and acquainted with the neighborhood for over thirty-five years. I maintain an office for the practice of medicine at 118 North Walnut for over thirty -five years, church affiliation, aver thirty -five years, and I lived in the neighborhood for six years. I have watched many ctanges in the neighborhood. I've often ought if you were to stand on the corner of Walnut and Washington Streets and look east on Washington Street, you could even see the Century Center. It's a beautiful street. It's just those two blocks. On the other hand, if you were t start and came up Washington Street, west, it's a lovely street until you get the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Washington Street. It's like going from nilght into day. I' m. here mainly to address the crime in that area. I've lived in that area, I' ve watched it for all these years. No business can exist or operate in that neighborhood. The only reason I can operate there is because I've been there for thirty -five years. That's the only way I can operate.
