Comnission <br />approval remiested for <br />contract <br />with Center City Associates for <br />tenance services in the downtown <br />ma' <br />area. <br />Mr. <br />Pitts explained the need for the <br />contract <br />with Center City Associates. <br />Pre5ently, <br />several City departments <br />cooperate <br />to provide maintenance services <br />for <br />the downtown: Park Dept., Street <br />Dep <br />of <br />., Board of Public Works, and Dept. <br />Redevelopment. However, the efforts <br />of <br />these agencies lack coordination. <br />This <br />contract provides for Center City <br />As <br />fates to coordinate and manage <br />doMitown <br />maintenance. <br />Under the contract, Center City <br />Associates will hire one full time <br />eup oyee to supervise the maintenance <br />procrrain and crew. The downtown merchants <br />shodId find it easier to contact this <br />supexvisor about problems. CCA will also <br />study the existing maintenance program <br />and equipment and work with the <br />Department of Redevelopment and other <br />City agencies to develop a long term <br />ma' tenance program.
