Co <br />Redevelopment Commission <br />1988 <br />(Cont.) <br />Mr. Pitts explained that Daniel L. <br />Pi tti and Company is a <br />p lic /private development company <br />specializing in the Arts: auditoriums, <br />th ters, museum complexes, etc. We <br />have asked them for a proposal to <br />provide a feasibility study on the <br />redevelopment of the Morris Civic <br />Aix1itorium, Palais Royale and the <br />StAte 'Theatre He noted that the <br />da7ntown has positioned itself <br />st=ngly as the cultural and <br />eni ertainment center for the region. <br />We would like to build on that <br />s ength as we redevelop and market <br />th buildings. Mr. PierottiIs <br />p posal is two - phased. Phase One <br />wo Lld develop a business plan, pro <br />fo , and marketing strategies for <br />th Palais Royale and evaluate the <br />cu -rent operations of the Morris Civic <br />Au Litorium. Phase Two would suggest <br />po sible uses for the State Theatre to <br />fi it into the arts - entertainment <br />theme. The study will be ccuplete in <br />approximately six months, but there <br />will be interim reports during that <br />t' . The cost of the study is <br />$1!;,800 plus travel reimbursables. <br />Mr Hunt noted that this study does <br />not include an architectual/ <br />ineering evaluation of the <br />buildings. <br />Mr Piasecki asked what would follow <br />th study. Mrs. Kolata responded that <br />th study would offer a plan of <br />n a motion by Mr. Combs, seconded <br />by Mr. Piasecki and unanimously <br />cai-ried, the Commission approved the <br />contract. with Daniel L.
