NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />7. <br />c. cominuea... <br />it should stand, the financial consulting <br />services of Springsted, Inc. would be <br />required for the garage financing. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded <br />by Ms. Auburn and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission approved the contract for <br />consulting services. <br />REPORTS <br />Mr. Cronk asked about the status of the <br />Raintree Point Apartments project. Mr. <br />Hunt indicated that the project continues <br />to be held up in financing arrangements. <br />There is still a chance that it will <br />happen, :)ut that if significant progress <br />isn't made soon, the staff may recommend <br />that the property be taken back and <br />offered aqain. <br />Mr. Cron-, asked if the project failed to <br />materialize, would the Commission <br />consider an office development for the <br />parcel. Mr. Hunt indicated that the <br />Commission continues to believe that the <br />best use of the land is multi - family <br />residential. <br />Mr. Nimtzz, on behalf of the Mayor, <br />presented Ms. Auburn and Mr. Combs each <br />with a p ague in recognition of their <br />support for the Coveleski Stadium. They <br />were not present at the stadium <br />dedicati n to receive them at that time. <br />Mr. Nimtk commented on the editorial in <br />the Sou Bend Tribune regarding the fire <br />department's response to the Robertson's <br />fire. The editorial was very good and <br />the fire department did a fine job. <br />Mr. <br />Hunt commended Mr. Pitts for his <br />tared ng job as coordinator and <br />cipal author of the Michigan Street <br />Corridor Development Plan. <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE CONTRACT <br />FOR CONSULTING SERVICES <br />PROGRESS REPORTS <br />
