Mrs. Kolata indicated that the <br />Housing Development Corporation and Code <br />Enforcement are active in that area. Mr. <br />Gilhert stated that the original intent <br />of was to focus on the commercial <br />area of the near west side. Mrs. Kolata <br />noted that changes in the boundaries <br />would be considered under the proposed <br />agreement. The staff will look at this <br />are and discuss it with WWCRP. <br />Ms. Auburn asked what mechanisms would be <br />used to "frequently solicit and accept <br />for consideration the views of residents, <br />taxpayers, and merchants of the Near West <br />Side Neighborhood on the ongoing <br />redevelopment process ". Mrs. Kolata <br />indicated that development of a <br />comprehensive plan for the area would be <br />a joint effort. In addition, meetings of <br />the neighborhood organizations and <br />Red* elopment Commission meetings would <br />be forum for considering the views of <br />thesp groups. <br />Mr. imtz directed the staff to report at <br />the riext meeting on the condition of the <br />area suggested by Mr. Piasecki and <br />activity currently addressing those <br />conditions. <br />Mr. 14imtz asked if there were any <br />obje tions to the report. There were <br />none. Mr. Nimtz accepted the staff <br />repot and directed the staff to proceed <br />with the steps necessary to have the <br />desi ated area declared a Redevelopment <br />r <br />Area <br />fomAssion approval requested for loans <br />in c nnection with the Section 312 Loan <br />from the Bureau of <br />-5- <br />COMMISSION DIREC'T'ED STAFF TO PROCEED <br />WITH THE STEPS NECESSARY TO HAVE <br />THE DESIGNATED AREA DECLARED A <br />REDEVELOPMENT AREA <br />
