South Bend edevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - July 10, 1987 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />7. <br />b. Continued... <br />Mr. Phair explained Holladay's plans for <br />the building. He distributed copies of <br />the brochure they will use for <br />advertising when renovation is complete. <br />He Explained that Holladay Corporation <br />acquired the building approximately one <br />year ago as part of the deal for I & M to <br />move into One Michiana Square. They have <br />applied for the building to be designated <br />as EL historic building. They expect to <br />beg'n construction within 30 days with <br />can letion by the end of the year. <br />Mr. Wolf indicated that Center City <br />Associates strongly supports this project <br />because of the quality of work that <br />Holladay Corporation does and because of <br />the positive effect it could have on the <br />future of the Christman building. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 806 <br />by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR REAL <br />the Commission approved Resolution No. PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR ONE <br />806 approving real property tax abatement MICHIANA SQUARE ASSOCIATES <br />for One Michiana Square Associates. <br />c. Co ssion approval <br />Resclution No. 807 a <br />tion for real <br />for <br />an <br />tax <br />deduction for Richard E. Luten. <br />Mr. Hunt asked that this item be <br />continued until the July 24 meeting. <br />Mr. Hunt noted that the last portion of the <br />Michigan Street improvements has been <br />ccmpleted on schedule. <br />Ms. Der beck asked about the status of the <br />Christman building. Mr. Hunt explained that <br />we have no jurisdiction on a privately owned <br />building except to provide incentives for the <br />owner to improve it. Center City Associates <br />has had Oome contact with the owner and will <br />continuo to pursue the matter. <br />-4- <br />COMMISSION CONTINUED UNTIL JULY 24 <br />
