PROGRE�S REPORT (Cont.) <br />Mr. Pi secki made a motion that the Commission <br />go on ecord to oppose parking meters <br />downto n. Mr. Combs seconded the motion and <br />the mo ion was carried. <br />Gary Sieber inquired about the reason for the <br />Commission's opposition to parking meters. <br />Mr. Nim z indicated that it was based on the <br />public's opposition. They feel parking meters <br />are too inconvenient. Ms. Auburn indicated <br />that pa t experience has shown them to require <br />too muc maintenance, also. <br />Mrs. Ko ata noted that the mention of parking <br />meters as a possible solution to controlling <br />the length of time people park downtown has <br />been blown out of proportion. It was only one <br />of the possibilities mentioned and not the <br />recomme ded solution. <br />Mrs. Schwartz stated that City Controller, <br />Michael Vance and the City administration were <br />also opposed to the use of parking meters. <br />Norm St ngland asked about the status of <br />Holladay Corporation's project at the corner <br />of Wayn and Michigan Streets. Mrs. Kolata <br />reported that the.principals of the interested <br />company have not made a decision yet. <br />8. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING <br />a <br />The nex regular meeting of the Redevelopment <br />Commission is scheduled for June 12, 1987, at <br />10:00 a.m. <br />There being no further business to come before <br />the Com ission, Ms. Auburn made a motion that <br />the meeting be adjourned.
