South Bend Commission <br />Regular Mee �edevelopment <br />ing - April 10, 1987 <br />7. PROGRESIS REPORTS <br />Mr. Hunt reported that the last phase of the <br />Michigan Street reconstruction project is <br />moving on schedule. <br />Mr. Hunt also reported and commended the <br />Street epartment for the job they are doing <br />with the new street sweeper, keeping the <br />sidewalks in the downtown clean. Mr. Nimtz <br />directed that a letter be written to the <br />Street epartment commending them. <br />Mrs. Phipps reported that Phyllis Newbon, <br />secretary in the department for the past eight <br />months has taken a position with Memorial <br />Hospital. Her last day is April 10. We will <br />miss her as a dedicated and hardworking <br />employe . We wish her success in her new <br />positio . <br />Mr. Nimtz reported that the meeting with the <br />West Wa hington Planning Committee was very <br />good. Approximately 35 people attended. No <br />decision was made as to whether they wanted to <br />become a redevelopment area, but the <br />discussion was good. <br />Ms. Sch artz requested that the Commission <br />execute an acknowledgement of the donation of <br />the Tra swestern building so that the donor <br />can com lete tax forms relating to the <br />donatio . <br />Upon a inotion by Ms. Auburn, seconded by Mr. <br />Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission authorized and directed Mr. Nimtz <br />and Mr. Piasecki to execute the necessary <br />document to the Internal Revenue Service <br />concerning the Transwestern building which was <br />donated to the Commission. <br />Ms. Schwartz requested that the Commission <br />approve a change in the contract with <br />Zuchell , Hunter Associates, changing the <br />completion date from May 11, 1987 to June 11, <br />1987. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded by Ms. <br />Auburn, the Commission approved the change of <br />completion date of the contract. <br />-7- <br />PROGRESS REPORTS <br />COMMISSION AUTHORIZED MR.
