JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA <br /> (SHIVELY/DEMAEGT ANNEXATION) <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has <br /> determined that it is in the best interest of the City of South Bend <br /> to annex and bring within the corporate limits of the City of South <br /> Bend certain territory that is contiguous with the City of South Bend. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. That the following described real estate situated in St. <br /> Joseph County, Indiana, being contiguous by more than one-fourth ( 1/4) <br /> of its aggregate external boundaries with the present boundaries of <br /> the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and hereby is annexed to and <br /> brought within the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br /> Parcels of land located in the Northwest quarter of <br /> Section 21 and the Northeast quarter of Section 20, <br /> Township 38 North, Range 2 East, German Township, St. <br /> Joseph County, Indiana. More particularly described as <br /> follows: <br /> Beginning at the center point of Section 21, thence <br /> North along the West line of the Toll Road Industrial <br /> Park Subdivision 1325.083 feet; thence West 661.02 feet; <br /> thence North 1280 feet; more or less to the centerline <br /> of Brick Rd. ; thence West 661. 02 feet; thence South 530 <br /> feet; thence West 138.48 feet, thence South 465 feet, <br /> more or less to the south line, extended east, of the <br /> Hartman & DeMaegt Subdivision and the High Meadows <br /> Estates Subdivision; thence West along the south line of <br /> Hartman and DeMaegt Subdivision and High Meadows Estates <br /> Subdivision to the Southwest corner of Lot 35 of High <br /> Meadows Estates Subdivision thence North along the west <br /> line of said subdivision to a point 750 feet south of <br /> the centerline of Brick Road; thence West parallel with <br /> the centerline of Brick Road 420 feet, more or less <br /> thence North parallel with the west line of said <br /> subdivision 750 feet to the centerline of Brick Road; <br /> thence West along the centerline of Brick Road to the <br /> centerline of Mayflower Road; thence South 1308 feet, <br /> thence Southeast 74 .74 feet; thence East by Southeast <br /> 2757 feet along the North right-of-way line of Cleveland <br /> Rd.
