South Bend Commission <br />Regular Mee Jedevelopment <br />ing - February 13, 1987 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />e. Continued... <br />parties who are interested in submitting <br />a proposal for the property. He has also <br />received a completed bid packet from <br />Sandra Kieffer and Theodore Kieffer and <br />Debra Zimpelman and Brad Zimpelman, <br />intending to form an equal partnership to <br />purchase the property. The proposal <br />purchase price is $20,000. The proposed <br />use is to rehabilitate the building as a <br />multipurpose structure with second level <br />residential and ground level commercial <br />use. The two intended businesses for the <br />ground level are an antique /interior <br />design service and a deli /restaurant. <br />The purchasers plan to operate the <br />businesses themselves. He indicated that <br />the plan to meet design guidelines <br />specified in the offering. <br />Mrs. Kieffer further explained that they <br />are pursuing this as a family venture, as <br />interested in rehabilitating the <br />historical aspects of the building as <br />they are in operating the businesses. <br />There are two conditions to their <br />proposal: (1) rezoning to allow the <br />combination residential /commercial uses <br />and (2) the acquisition of the adjacent <br />lot for parking. <br />Mr. itts indicated that the project will <br />be d ne in phases and completed within <br />thre years. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded <br />by Ms. Auburn and unanimously carried, <br />the Commission accepted the proposal of <br />the Kieffers and Dimpelmans as submitted <br />and authorized staff to proceed to <br />prep re the necessary contract to <br />comp ete the transaction. <br />f. Commission approval requested for the <br />assignment of Holladay Corporation's <br />inte est in the commercial lease with <br />Center City Associates to One Michiana <br />S ua e Partners. <br />-7- <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL <br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE L.
