RUSZKOWSKI, CHIEF OF POLICE
Board of Public Works March 161h 2020
City of South Bend, Indiana
Honorable Board Members,
The South Bend Police Department is requesting Board approval for the disposal of surplus/obsolete
equipment no longer being issued to officers with the South Bend Police Department. The equipment
included three different models of Remington Shotguns which are no longer used by the SBPD.
There are nine (9) Blued/Parkerized Remington 870s, one (1) Blued/Parkerized Remington 1187, and
thirty (30) Remington 870 Marine Magnums. The models have been utilized and issued for over twenty
years; these shotguns have sustained much wear and tear during their lives and are no longer fit for
modern police usage.
The forty (40) shotguns would be traded in to Kiesler Police Supply, a QPA Vendor the SBPD consistently
does business with, for a credit on future purchases.
Thank youp
PFC Aaron M.
