South Bend
Regular Me
7.
elopment Commission
- April 12, 1985
REPORTS (Cont.)
Is it not frustrating? Does it not make you
feel as though you could have stayed away and
learned nothing? All of which leads to a
definite feeling that you may purposely be
being kept in the dark!
Yours for more informative meetings
Janet Allen
Mr. Ni z explained that the Commission is
involvel in a number of .projects and when
negotiating with people a great deal of the
information is confidential. So there are a
lot of things that cannot be revealed until a
final decision is made. The Commission does
the best it can and always allows opportunity
for questions to be asked. The Commission
does however have to stay within the
guideli es of what can be revealed according
to HUD nd other legal concepts.
Mr. Rick Pitts gave an overview of the three
bids received for the L. Keen building in
Monroe Park on March 23, 1985. The minimum
bid price was $20,300. A bid was received
from T. Brooks Brademas in the amount of
$20,500 with a proposed use of first floor
ccmmerc al use and second floor residential.
A bid was received from Colonial Caterers of
Mid-America in the amount of $26,509.77 with a
proposed use as a deli and gourmet shop for
the first floor with meeting and conference
rooms om the second floor. A bid was also
received from Keen Investments in the amount
of $33,320 for a proposed use of office space
on the first and second floor.
Commiss on anticipates making a decision on
award of the bid on April 26, 1985.
8. NEXT CGJ1MISSION MEETING
The nex-
will be
10:00 a
Regular Meeting of the ConTnission
held on Friday, April 26, 1985 at
.m.
NEXT COMMISSION MEETING
