(NNN) is requesting the vacation. of the <br />following alley: <br />The first East/West alley North of Portage Avenue from Leland Avenue East to the first <br />North/South Alley and a distance of-120 feet, more or less and a width of 12 feet. Being <br />apart of Chapin Place First Plat, Portage Township, City of South Bend, St. Joseph <br />County, Indiana. <br />The NNN is currently rehabilitating the property adjacent (north) of this alley, and wishes <br />to close the alley in order to: <br />increase vehicular safety -the proximity of the alley to the Leland & Portage <br />Ave intersection increases the potential for accidents, <br />to improve the quality of life -there is currently a great deal of undesirable <br />traffic that utilizes this cross alley, and <br />fo address public safety concerns -the alley is used for the sale of drugs and <br />prostitution. <br />If you have any questions, please-feel free to contact me at 232-9182.
