South Bend edevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting December 21, 1985 <br />7. PROGRESS REPORT (Cont.) <br />multi-Limily rehabilitation. Notice will be <br />receivea in the near future for an additional <br />Section 312 Loan allocation that will be <br />targeted specifically to the Homesteading <br />Program <br />Mr. Hun reported that the Department sumitted <br />amendments to the Teachers Credit Union UDAG <br />that were requested by the Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development. Mr. Hunt <br />commended Don Inks and his staff for the work <br />done on preparing and submitting the UDAG <br />Mr. Hun reported that the Department of <br />Economic Development has been cut back <br />substantially from 58 positions to 36 <br />positions. Entering into 1985 the Department <br />will in lude 31 positions. Even with those <br />cutback3 there were a couple of vacant <br />positio s which have been filled. Mr. Jim <br />Bixler as joined the Department as the <br />Neighbo hood Commercial Revitalization <br />Coordinator. He will be working in particular <br />with Western Avenue and the Lincolnway West <br />groups. Mr. K.C. Pocius has been transferred <br />from Coimnunity Development, and Mr. Rick Pitts <br />has rej ined the Department as Real Estate <br />Special st. <br />Mr. Hunt's final report was on Monroe Park. <br />He reported that the Curtis Products building <br />has begin construction. Plast Ad has begun <br />putting their foundation and footing in for <br />their 20,000 square foot expansion. Also, <br />Crescen Electric has begun their footing for <br />their b ilding. <br />8.
