South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br /> Regular Meeting—September 13, 2012 <br /> 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br /> F. South Side Development Area <br /> (1) Update on Fellows Street/Ireland Road <br /> traffic plan. <br /> Mr. Schalliol noted that over the past several <br /> months, the staff of the South Bend <br /> Redevelopment Commission and various <br /> offices of the City of South Bend and staff <br /> from consulting engineering firm Christopher <br /> B. Burke LLC have been working to review <br /> and revise the Fellows Street Corridor <br /> Project that was presented to the <br /> Redevelopment Commission in the form of <br /> Resolution No. 3045 and Amendment#3 to <br /> the Master Agency Agreement in June 2012. <br /> The proposed corridor project involved the <br /> acquisition of thirty residential properties and <br /> acquisition of right of way from five <br /> residences and one business to create an <br /> upgraded roadway corridor from the <br /> intersection of Fellows and Ireland to the <br /> intersection of Chippewa and Michigan. The <br /> proposed roadway would be connected at <br /> Fellows and Ireland to a new local road <br /> connector being built by the State of Indiana <br /> which will connect the Gilmer Park <br /> neighborhood and neighborhoods south of <br /> the bypass to Ireland Road via a new bridge <br /> over the bypass. <br /> After much review over the summer, the <br /> project team developed and presented six <br /> alignment concepts labeled Alternates A, B- <br /> 1, B-2, B-3, C and D, at a special meeting of <br /> the Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday, <br /> August 28. Since that time, staff has been <br /> reviewing comments from the meeting, <br /> reviewing the alignment concepts, and <br /> 21 <br />
