South BE <br />Regular <br />C. <br />Q <br />end <br />Redevelopment Commission <br />Meeting <br />- July 22, 1983 <br />BUSINESS <br />( font . ) <br />approval requested for Resolution <br />Commission <br />No. <br />683 authorizing disposition and sale of <br />East <br />Bank property in the East Race <br />Area to the Board of Park <br />Development <br />Commissioners <br />of the Park District of the City <br />of <br />South Bend. <br />Hunt explained that on May 28, 1982 the <br />Mr. <br />Redevelopment <br />Com-nission authorized the <br />transfer <br />to the Park Department of various <br />real <br />estate in the East Bank Development Area. <br />This <br />resolution allows us to sell to the Park <br />Department <br />a parcel of land, which is a part <br />of <br />he former South Bend Screw Products <br />procerty. <br />Mr. Hunt stated that the cost of <br />ac <br />isition of this real estate is $15,025. <br />We <br />are still within the cap of $600,000 that <br />was <br />established for the Park Department's <br />pur <br />hase of East Raceway property. <br />Mr. <br />Piasecki asked what the intended use of <br />thi3 <br />property will be. <br />Mr. <br />Hunt explained that the land will be <br />involved <br />in the pedestrian walkway across the <br />rac <br />ay and will form a small park right at <br />the <br />tip of the raceway. <br />Upo <br />a motion made by Mr. Donaldson, seconded <br />by <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, <br />Resolution <br />No. 683 authorizing disposition and <br />sale <br />of East Race property in the East Bank <br />Dev <br />loranent Area to the Board of Park <br />Comnissioners <br />of the Park District of the City <br />of <br />South Bend was adopted. <br />Comnission <br />approval requested for Certificate <br />of <br />Canpletion for Fortuna Land C (Monroe <br />le Disposition Parcel #12). <br />Hunt explained that this involved the <br />Mr. <br />Harbor <br />Metal Company building in the Monroe <br />Par <br />area.
