Paunt <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donaldson, seconded by <br />Mr. obinson and unanimously carried, Resolution <br />No. 58 was approved. <br />Mr. 4imtz explained that although the Commission <br />did iot have a prevailing wage requirement on the <br />Bloc< 6 land, almost all of the construction <br />then was done paying prevailing wage. <br />Mr. IcMahon stated that the Commission is also <br />reco mending that local labor be used. <br />Ms. kuburn explained that if there is a problem <br />in tie future where prevailing wages are not being <br />adhe ed to in the majority of the construction cases <br />or ff there is a problem with not using local con- <br />trac ors or local employees, the Commission will <br />come back and readdress that issue. There is a <br />nati nal group that is putting pressure on some <br />orga izations nation wide to move away from the <br />prev iling wage rate and also to begin to move <br />-5- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED <br />RESOLUTION #658 <br />
