Wednesday June 29th, 1904. The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present. The following was ordered of xecoxd:--- - - - It is the sense of the Board of Public Works that the superintendence and care. of the City Parks are of such importance as to require they entire time and attention of the Superintendent of Parks. ORDERED, that J. G. Barker be and he is hereby releived from office as Superi.z- tendent of parks and from all duties in connection with the Parks of this City, the same to take effect July 1st, 1904, at 12 o'clock noon. ORDERED further, that Herman Beyer be and he is hereby appointed Superintendent of City Parks, this appointment to be in full force and effect from and after July 11 1904, at 12 o'clock noon, and until revoked by the Board of Puy>lic Works., The Superintendent of Parks is hereby directed to report to this Board at its Trda office in the City Hall on of each week at 10 o'clock A. X. for consultation and orders. 4 Adopted:, McInerny and Papczynski voting Aye and Nicar Not voting. Bids were opened and referred to the Engineer for tabulation for Orange street Grade, Curb & Walk. Vass ar " avenue Grade, Curb & Walk and South Bend Ave Grade, Plat of the South Side addition filed and approved. Petition filed by Hastings & Woodworth and E. H. Rush for the opening of Calvert street. Referred to the Engineer for proNer description. Petition filed by Davies Laundry company to temporarily occupy a portion of East Washington street pending repairs upon therir building. Petition granted. The Engineer, filed assessment roll and final estimate for Pipe Sewer on Marion Boulevard and Navarree street. Grade Curb & Walk on Hine street Sidewalk on High Street Pipe Sewer on Keasey street under improvement resolutions Nos 156, 174, 180, 199 respectively. Resolved, that notices. as to the amount of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune commencing on the 2nd day of July 1904, stating that this Board will give a bearing on the ::mount of.such assessments .at .its office in the City Hall on the 12th day of July 1904 at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be accepted and approved and .the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of. this Resolution shall be published on the 2nd day of July 1904 in the South Bend .Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune stating that this Board will give a hearing upon the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 12th day of July 1904 at 7:15 P.M r
