<br />The Board met in reular session in the office of the Board all members being
<br />present.
<br />Bids were opened for the improvements on the following streets and were
<br />referred to the Engineer for tabulation. Grade, curb and walks on Emerson ave., Sample
<br />st., Notre Dame street, Special walks under res. # 157,158,and 160.,also, for pipe sewers
<br />on 'Carroll street and Notre Dame street.
<br />St. Commissioner instructed to purchase 5000 feet of oak lumber for bridge
<br />flooring..
<br />Assessment roll filed for the Grade, curb and -walk on Calvert street in the S.E.
<br />Add. under improvement resolution +115. Resolved by the Board that notices as to the
<br />amounts of assessments on the above street be published for six consecutive clays in the
<br />South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, beginning on the 24th. day of Sept,
<br />stating that this Board will give a hearing on such assessments at its office in the City
<br />Hall on the 6th. day of October,1903, at 7:15 P.N.
<br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and
<br />approved and the .final estimate thereon allowed. That notice of this resolution be publish
<br />-ed in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune on the 24th. day of
<br />Sept., 1903, stating that this Board will give a hearing on said resolution at its office
<br />in the City Hall on the 6th. day of October, 19032 at 7:15 P.N.
<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION +167*
<br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improve-
<br />ment be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: The grading, curb-
<br />ing and laying of cement walks on both sides of the roadway of Poland street from the west
<br />line of Webster street to the east line of Union street. Said imp-•ovement shall be known
<br />and designated as the Poland Street grade, curb and walks" and shall be cons ructed accord-
<br />ing to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith.
<br />Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall
<br />be published on the 24th.day of September and on the and on the lst. day of Oct.,19039
<br />in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune. This Board will give a
<br />hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 6th. day of October,1903,
<br />at 7;15 P.M. and will receive bids up to 10 a.m. on the 7tl. day of October, 19036.

<br />of Michigan scree t to the alley east of Michigan street. Said imp ovement shall be known
<br />and designated as the Fox street grade, curb and walks" and shell be constructed according
<br />fro the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Notice
<br />of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of t e above work shall be
<br />published on the 24th. day of Sept. and on the 1st. day of Oct., 1903) in the South Bend

<br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improve-

<br />cement walks and the necessary grading for the construction of said walks on the n.side of
<br />Ewing avenue from the east line of Micigan street to the alley east. Said improvement shall
<br />be known as and dsignated as the Ewing ave. walks and shall be constructed according to the
<br />plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Notice of this
<br />resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on
<br />the 24th. day and on the lstday of Oct, 1903, in the South Bend Daily Times and the Daily
<br />Tribune -This Board will give a hearing on thisre olution at its office in the City Hall on
