July 24th., 1903, in which to consider the verbal <br />remonstrance of Wm. Harlin. <br />Hearing on the Grade and Curb on La Fayette street under Improvement -Resolution <br />+103. Several interested parties appeared and objected to the class of work, <br />i.e. the deep grade of the street at the south end of improvement. The Board de- <br />ferred hearing until July 24th, at 10 A.d. in which to consider same. <br />Hearing on the Walk & Curb Improvement of Milton Street under Improvement <br />Resolution # 116. Wilbert Ward, et. al. filed a written remonstra-ce against the <br />class and style of work and the condition in which the street was left by the <br />contractor. Hearing on said Assessment Roll and Final Estimate was postponed <br />until Friday A.M. at 10 o'clock, July 24th., 1903. <br />Hearing on Franklin Place Brick Pavement Declaratury.Resolution given. Robert <br />Harris, et. al. filed a written petition requesting the Board to narrow the street <br />three feet on the east side and two feet on the west side. The petition was given <br />due consideration. Mr. Nicar moved the adoption of the resolution as drawn up, <br />which was seconded by lfr. Papczynski. Mr. Mclnerny not voting;. The motion was <br />adopted. The Board find that the benefits to thea abutting property i and <br />to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of the improvemi--; <br />entq and said declaratory resolution is hereby approved and confirmed. <br />The Engineer filed estimated cost for Franklin Place Brick ......... VO <br />Hearing on Vacation Resolution # 21', vacating a certain alley in the A.S.Baker <br />Addition, to the City of South Bend. No Remonstrants appeared and no remonstrances <br />were filed. - The Board hereby declare the following described alley vacated: -"The <br />fourteen foot alley as shown in plat of A.S. Baker's addition to the City of South <br />Bend, and lying immediately west of Lot (1) one in said plat. <br />Np,.property�:will:•be injuriouslysaffeeted.by such vacation. The following described <br />property is beneficially affected by such vacation. -"Begin 14' w. s.w. cor. Lot 1 in <br />Bakers 1st. add. th. n. 97 feet, th. w. 3 ft. n. 3ft. w. 31 ft. s. 100 ft. e. 34 ft. <br />to beginning ........ Adaline S. Stedman. Lot 1, 38-1/2 ft. w.side A.S.Bakers 1st. ad <br />....Wm. E. & Frances E. Geltz. .The Board accordingly fixes the assessment <br />for benefits accruing to the abutting property at $10.00 each respectively. Now <br />Comes Adeline S. Stedman and Wm. E. Geltz and waives notice of assessment 4nd;,hear- <br />ing--`-=on amdu.nt. of : as e-ssment any pay into the City Treasury of the City of South <br />Bond through its Board of Public Works the sums of w10.00 each respectivly. The <br />Board declare the above described alley vacated without further proceedings. <br />President. <br />
