The guide- <br />lines give legal descriptions for each of the areas, <br />talk about the area environment, and new construc- <br />ts n and building materials recommended and not <br />recommended. This is the only document in which we <br />ad cress the type of standards that we would like to <br />se in the residential area. In this document we <br />also go into a bit more detail about the industrial <br />ar a. <br />ThE Design Guidelines may require some modification <br />from time to time in order to make them better fit <br />certain aspects of the residential, commercial and <br />in ustrial areas. <br />On a motion by Mr. Donaldson, seconded by.Mr. Robin DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR <br />son and unanimously carried, the Design Guidelines HONROE- SAMPLE DEVELOPMENT <br />for the Monroe- Sample Development Area were adopted AREA ADOPTED AND APPROVED <br />and approved. <br />7. PROGRE$S REPORTS <br />Mr. McMahon informed the Commission that the City, through <br />the Board of Public Works, at a special meeting this morn- <br />ing, formally executed an agreement with New Energy Corpo- <br />ration of Indiana for the ethanol plant. This agreement <br />is dep ndent upon approvals that are anticipated this <br />afternoon at separate meetings of the City and County <br />Counci s. We will be involved through the Redevelopment <br />Commis ion in declaring the project area a redevelopment <br />area a d establishing it as an area that will be eligible <br />for ta> incremental financing,.should that tool become <br />availa le to us. Redevelopment may become involved in <br />other arious aspects of this project as is deemed <br />necessary. <br />Mr. Plc Mahon reported that The American City Corporation <br />has be un its study on the Century Mall project and their <br />repres ntatives are presently meeting the local business <br />people <br />The Battelle study has also been started. We should have <br />a timetable outlining the significant points that they <br />will r ach during the course of their evaluation at the <br />next m eting. <br />7 <br />
