AcN on by the Commission on bids received for Monroe - <br />Sam le Disposition Parcel No. 1. <br />Mr. McMahon explained to the Commission that the bid <br />rec ived on Disposition Parcel No. 1 from Mr. Jeffrey <br />Bea dsley, in the amount of $10,000.00, has been re- <br />vie ed and found to be in order. It has also been <br />reviewed by Mr. Butler and no irregularities were <br />fou d in the documents. Mr. McMahon asked Mr. Beardsley <br />to ive a history of Bernell Corporation and discuss the <br />bui ding plans slated for this parcel. <br />Mr. Beardsley explained that Bernell Corporation cur- <br />rently employs 25 -27 and during the next year or two <br />hops to expand the employee base to 30 or 35. The <br />business was started by a local optometrist, Dr. Bernard <br />Vod oy, about 30 years ago. (Dr. Vodnoy is still re- <br />tained by the company on a consulting basis.) Bernell <br />Corporation is a wholesale distributor of optical and <br />ophthalmic goods through mail order. They fill orders <br />for optometrists and ophthalmologists throughout the <br />wor d. <br />
