Commission approval requested for Resolution No. 618, extinguishing Demand Note obligations of RAHN Prop erties II, relating to the South Bend M rriott located in First Bank'Center. Mr. McMahon explained that on October 18, 1979 the private developers for the hotel submitted to the City, through Redevelopment, a Demand Note in the amount of $10,000 to be released once they had performed in certain areas. The original Demand Note has not been located and in order to satis- fa torily release that document, it has been de- termined that a resolution by the Redevelopment Co mission is necessary. The Developers have co pleted all of the activities required and have fi led their obligations and the City is required, th ough the Commission, to release the document. Mr Butler agreed that RAHN Properties II has done ev rything that was required under the agreement fo the cancellation of the note. Up n motion made by Mr. Donaldson, seconded by Mr. Ro inson and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 63 was adopted. e. Adrding of No 42 bid. Demolition and Site Clearance Contract Mr. McMahon expl.aired that bids were received and opened on April 24, 1981 at 10:00 a.m. for the demo- lition of buildings on the west side of Michigan Street in the Century 111all area. The low bidder was La Free Excavating at $74,444. The second lowest was Ri schard Brothers. The Chapel will be moving tomorrow and the Griffon has, been temporarily relocated across the street in one of the properties that we have. The Engineering Department met with LaFree Excavating and reviewed all of the requirements of the contract to make cer- ta n they understood the full nature of the work and ha n`t overlooked some items.
