PUBLICIHEARING (continued) Mr. McMahon said that as we have gone through the plan we have found that there is a need to acquire addi- tional properties. That is the reason that these are coming forward to the Commission in April in a lump be- cause vie are going to have to go through that full process. Mr. Butler pointed out to Mr. McMahon that he initially indicated the letter was not in the form of a remon- strant . :To be correct, we should consider the letter and th statements in the nature of a remonstrance so that Mr. West and the corporation's rights are preserved. Mr. Ni tz ordered that it be so entered into the record. Mr. Ni tz then recognized Mrs. Hundle. Mrs. H ndle said that she has a rental property at 533 South Columbia Street and wondered how soon the widen- ing process of Columbia would begin. Mr. McMahon explained that only the turn on Columbia would be improved. Mrs. Hernandez said that there is only one request that was not addressed and that related to a liaison person. Mrs. Hernandez explained that they had a contract with the Department of Redevelopment and opened an office where an employ e was available to look out for the rights of the reside is and stay in contact with the department. Mr. McMahon said he thought it would be proper if we worked that out in conjunction with the office when we talk about establishing an office there. I can't tell you what the make up of the office will be at this time or who we will try to put in the area. The neighborhood involvement is a key to successful project.
