They are selecting certain contractors in <br />there. I am the only minority contractor out there <br />and they are taking a select group of contractors and <br />this is who they are giving jobs to bid on. <br />Mr.�Nimtz: Are you presently working on any particular <br />con racts for us now, Mr. Brown, and how many? <br />Mr. Brown: I have one that I will be starting on and <br />I hive one that I will be starting on next month. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Nimtz: How large of a crew do you have? <br />Brown: I have five men. <br />Robinson: Is Kathy going to talk on this? <br />Mrs. Baumgartner: What you have before you are not <br />bids per se, they are proposals for a home improvement <br />loar which are solicited by the homeowners themselves. <br />The3 are given our list of contractors which includes <br />individuals who have the State Contractors Financial <br />ForR on file. This list is given to the individual <br />who has received a home improvement loan and they <br />are then free to contact any individual on the list, <br />or any other contractor who is willing to do the <br />entire work and who will fill out the financial appli- <br />cation. They are given a time deadline by which they <br />mus get their proposals into us and then we accept <br />the e proposals after the homeowner has obtained them. <br />Mr. <br />Mrs, <br />Mr. <br />for <br />thi <br />Cira: Was his name on that list? <br />Baumgartner: Yes. <br />McMahon: Kathy, is that the process you follow <br />all of the loans where the homeowners are paying <br />back. <br />Mrs Baumgartner: Right.
