Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Request — Reject Bids <br />119-069 WWTP Secondary and Disinfection Improvements <br />DATE: February 18, 2020 <br />mNNWUNNNNN oIoIIOIOINONI010I RNNNNRNNNNRNNINMAIN A 0 1 N N A I Iiiii�i I I I I IIIOMUN i � I I I I I I Ii uN�4 <br />The Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities request the Board of Public Works <br />reject all bids for Project No. 119-069 WWTP Secondary and Disinfection Improvements <br />that were received on February 11, 2020. <br />All bids exceeded the available project budget for the work. <br />All bids exceeded the Engineer's Estimate of Probable Construction Costs for the work. <br />The Division of Engineering and Division of Utilities are reviewing the scope of the <br />project and will be working with Arcadis U.S. to discuss options for revising the Plans <br />and Specifications to re -issue and to re -bid a portion of the proposed upgrades. The <br />goal will be to revise the current plans and specifications to include the most critical <br />elements of the project that are within the 2020 Budget for the proposed capital project, <br />All proposed upgrades included in the original scope of work are directly related to <br />improvements for the Long -Term Control Plan for the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />Upgrades and compliment the City's efforts to comply with the Consent Decree. Some <br />of the scope of work can be completed with a re -bid project. Other portions of the work <br />will have to be constructed in a future project when capital and resources are available <br />to bid the remaining work. <br />The funding source for this project is the Division of Utilities, Sewage Works Capital <br />Account (641-0630-415-4366). <br />If there are any questions, please contact Al Greek at (574) 271-4210 at the Division of <br />Utilities or Jacob M.
